Overstrand is a small seaside village just 2.5 miles around the coast from the popular resort town of Cromer. The village beach is generally a quieter alternative to the bustling beaches in Cromer but is nonetheless an excellent beach, backed by cliffs and boasting a wide expanse of sand at low tide. A clifftop cafe located above the beach is a lovely spot to sit and enjoy lunch or drinks whilst taking in the fantastic sea views. There is also a welcoming pub in the village, as well as a handy shop and post office. For a wider range of shops and places to eat, head around the coast to Cromer. The town justifiably prides itself on its lack of chain cafes, offering instead a choice of independent restaurants and coffee shops, many serving the local crab for which the area is famous.
